Letterkenny Athletic Membership notes.

LAC members Fern Duffy and Kathryn McDevitt each competed within the 123.ie Nationwide League finals and each had been rewarded for his or her efforts with medals.

Fern competed within the triple bounce, the 100m, the 4 x 100m and the 4 x 400m. Kathryn competed within the 200m, 400m, 4 x 100m and the 4 x 400m.

Barry Mackey competed within the 123.ie Nationwide Masters Championships within the 1500m and the 5000m within the M60 class.

A ten mile highway race was held in Monaghan on the thirteenth August and membership member Aidan McKenna completed in an outstanding time of 1:10:16. The occasion was sponsored by KPMG.

The Ballyare 10km highway race, in its thirtieth 12 months, passed off on Friday eleventh August and lots of LAC members participated. Circumstances had been testing and the course was difficult.

LAC member Nakita Bourke gained the ladies’s race in a time of 34:51 whereas Ciaran McGonagle completed in third place in a time of 34:38, Raymond Birch in 34:47, Michael Harkin in 37:44, Kieran Crawford in 37:56, Paul Cullen 38:54, Monica McGranaghan 44:32, Manus McFadden 44:53, Naoise Enright 45:27, John Hughes 46:25, Eamon O’Boyle 46:50 and Finn Begley 49:28.

Anna Russell was racing within the Scrabo Hill race in Co. Down, a testing 4 mile hilly course. Properly carried out Anna.

Letterkenny Athletic Membership wish to lengthen its condolences to membership member Paul O’Gara on the passing of his mom Kathleen O’Gara. Go ndéana Dia trócaire uirthi.

LAC meets Tuesday 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval operating session, Thursday night for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long term.

All runs begin on the Aura. All ranges catered for and inspired.

Match 4 Life which is run by LAC along with the Donegal Sports activities Partnership takes place each Monday at 5.45pm on the observe on the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.

The intention of the programme is to achieve out to those that want to enhance their health and all are most welcome any Monday they select to attend.
