Cllr Michael Mc Clafferty is new Cathaoirleach of Glenties MD

Unbiased Councillor Michael McClafferty has been elected as the brand new Cathaoirleach of the Glenties Municipal District.

The handover occurred on Tuesday following some exchanges concerning which candidate was being put ahead by the impartial grouping.

A vote between Cllr Michael Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig and Cllr McClafferty finally determined that Cllr McClafferty would take over from Cllr Anthony Molloy.

Talking after the assembly, Cllr McClaffety stated: “I’m each honoured and delighted to have been chosen as the brand new Cathaoirleach of Glenties Municipal District. I wish to thank my colleagues for trusting and supporting me. I look ahead to the yr forward in my new position and performing on behalf of the constituents of the Glenties Municipal space.”
